It all began in 1895 with 2 young men joining efforts to make bikes and motorbikes in a family business named Laurin & Klement. By 1905, Grandfather Automobile appeared on the scene.
The initial phase of automobile manufacture was a story of success from the very start. In 1925, following merger with Skoda Pilsen, the company enjoyed enormous progress, producing beautiful vehicles with many fine details and breaking records at international competitions.
The boom slowed down only after the outbreak of WWII, followed by a period of socialism, yet the factory managed to keep up with the West. In 1991, Skoda Auto ties onto the past and reenters global markets under the wings of the VW Konzern.
Years of research and constant progress led to production of unique automobiles that satisfy customers’ high aesthetical and technical requirements.

The new Octavia has grown lengthwise, has more space in its interior for passengers in the back and a roomy luggage compartment, whose basic volume of 560 liters (580 l Combi) can be expanded by folding the rear seats up to incredible 1335 liters (1620 l Combi)! Its excellent driving properties have been improved still more, thanks to a new chassis with a modern front axle and new multi-functional rear axle.
The assortment of modern power units is bound to satisfy fans of both gasoline and Diesel engines, including fans of economical or sport-style driving. The palette features also true “delicatessen” - the 2.0 FSI/110 kW gasoline engine or the 2.0 TDI PD Diesel engine with an output of 103 kW and a revolutionary DSG transmission. The assortment is complemented with an economical 1.4 MPI/55 kW gasoline engine and a 1.9 TDI PD/77 kW turbo Diesel engine.
Even the standard version, Classic, has four airbags (front & side), the anti-lock ABS system, central locking, height-adjustable driver seat, and ISOFIX fixtures for a baby seat on the rear seats. With the Ambiente version, you can enjoy (in addition to the standard Classic equipment) electrically adjustable a heated exterior mirrors, a dashboard computer or stained-glass windows. The top version, Elegance, for example, features automatic dual-zone air-conditioning system Climatronic, electrically-controlled window, both front and rear, fog lights, 15” Orion wheels of light-weight alloy, door-step lighting integrated in the exterior mirrors any many other elements.
Your pleasure of driving a new Octavia can be further enhanced with numerous items of optional added equipment. The Skoda Octavia with 2.0 FSI petrol engine can be driven in normal traffic conditions with an average fuel consumption of 4,9 litres per 100 km. This was proven by the twenty-four hour test held by TV Prima.
